Rugby-7 Team of Russia took third place in the men’s qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and was struck by the incredible stadium game.
Today in the qualifying tournament in Monaco started for the Russian team with mast 1/4 final against Team Canada. By half-time we were with a score of 7: 0, but Canada is not going to give up, and after 3 minutes to make the score equaled – 7: 7. And then Vladimir Ostroushko brilliant game, try and 12: 7. Exactly one minute before the end of the match the enemy puts a try, but it does not save the situation – 14:12 (7: 0). Victory! National team in the 1/2 finals.
Then followed a tough match against Spain, which for two years was prepared for this tournament. At the end of regulation time the score was 12:10 in favor of Russia! Voltage literally electrified the air in the stadium. But unfortunately, despite numerous violations, time does not stop, and the judge allows the Spaniards to win. Final score – 12:17 in favor of the Spanish national team team.
In the fight for third place the national team plays with one of the strongest teams: score of the match Russia -Germany – 22:12 (12: 5). The Russians took the 3rd place with which they congratulated and awarded His Highness the ruling Prince Albert II of Monaco, who attended every day of the tournament in the stands.
