Rugby-7 Men’s Russian team performance at the final stages of the World Series season 2015/2016 in Paris (13-15 May) and London (May 21-22). Coach, coach “VVA-Saracens Moscow region” Rugby-7 Andrey Sorokin told about the problems in the final rounds series:
- At the training camp in Alushta we worked mainly on protective actions. The players fatigued, but they understand the responsibility that rests upon them, and everyone is trying, they are great.
One of the goals remain unchanged – we need to gain a foothold in the World Series. At the end of the series the team will play in the first round of the European Championship in Moscow, which will, in practice, the main part of which will be performing at the qualifying round in Monaco.
In the national team of Russia in the final stages of the World Series in Paris and London went twelve players, five of which – Monino rugby Mikhail Babaev, Ilya Babayev, German Davydov, Vladislav Sozonov and Vitaly Givat.
After eight rounds of the Russian national team has to its credit 21 points and occupies the 15th place. In Paris, our rivals for the Group A teams will be prefabricated Kenya, New Zealand and Portugal.
